Mac Hagel Rejoins Zenith as EVP to Run West Coast Operations in the U.S.

 

LOS ANGELES – Mac Hagel, rejoins Zenith as Executive Vice President, Managing Director – West. Mac serves as the media lead overseeing Zenith Media’s West Coast Operations, and will sit on the Zenith USA Executive Leadership Team.  Mac brings a comprehensive range of expertise across multiple categories, inclusive of Entertainment, Technology, Gaming, Travel, Telecom, Cable, Finance, Packaged Goods and Retail. Mac has a proven track record in superior leadership, client service and results-driven, innovative, branding strategies.

Mac joined Zenith in 2012 as SVP of Strategy, overseeing both the JPMorgan Chase and H&M accounts.  Under his leadership, the agency moved JPMorgan Chase from product driven planning to a portfolio segment approach, effectively driving efficiency, scalability, uniformity and governance across their organization. For H&M, Mac propelled innovation around their largest annual campaign, H&M’s David Beckham Super Bowl promotion.  Overall, the H&M Beckham ad was ranked the #1 most talked about Super Bowl commercial and represented the climax of viewer tweeting during the entire Super Bowl telecast.   In 2014, Mac transitioned

to EVP media lead, overseeing the Verizon account and managed the business across Wireless, FiOS, Go90, Hum and Corporate for two years.

 

Prior to Zenith, Mac most recently led the performance based accounts at OMD inclusive of Machine Zone gaming and Time Warner Cable.  Prior to OMD, Mac spent 8 years at Horizon Media, serving as VP Associate Managing Director overseeing and leading brand strategy on the United Airlines, Siemens Enterprise Communications and Google accounts. initiatives.  During his tenure at Horizon, Mac led the media strategy on several other accounts including A&E Television Networks, Quiznos, and Panasonic, in addition to cultivating many of Horizon’s partner agency relationships with an emphasis on broadcast buying strategy.

 

In 2014 Hagel received Verizon’s Innovation Award and in 2013, he was featured as one of television’s top media planners in Broadcasting & Cable. In 2008, Mac’s leadership was

 

recognized when his team won the prestigious Mediaweek “Media Plan of the Year” award for best use of Television for their work on the Panasonic Viera account.
