Zenith today announced that Emerson J Sosa Ponce has been named Executive Vice President, Cultural Convergence, a new role. As head of Zenith’s Cultural Convergence Practice, Emerson will provide clients with culture-first strategic direction, counsel and opportunities toward more inclusive marketing.

Emerson brings vast expertise managing brands already active with Multicultural audiences, as well as those looking to engage deeper with diverse consumers. Emerson joins Zenith from Group M, and reports to Colleen Hotchkiss, who in 2022 was elevated to President, Growth Practices. Zenith’s Growth Practices pillar encompasses the agency’s Content, Commerce and Cultural Convergence areas of expertise, with a focus on helping clients capitalize on the increasing synergy across these three critical areas. In building Growth Practices, Zenith renamed its Multicultural Practice to Cultural Convergence to better encompass the intersectionality that is inherent to diverse audiences today.

“Client teams are often challenged to be experts across a wide range of specialized practices that are both highly complex and often siloed,” said Hotchkiss. “We built Growth Practices because we recognized the multiplier effect potential when you cross-pollinate the power of our Content, Culture and Commerce teams. With this model and the immense expertise of our Talent, we are able to infuse our work with more connected insight across these disciplines. Growth Practices recognize the impact diverse audiences have on culture, which in turn influences our approaches to content and influencer. And Commerce is increasingly a consistent thread through all we do – be it shoppable media within social or video platforms, or with our retail media partners.”

“In this role at Zenith, I will work with our teams to expand and reinforce the power of Multiculturalism and DEI,” said Sosa Ponce. “I believe it’s about applying an intersectional lens to our work to impact both business and society. The convergence of our practices and resources will allow us to make a meaningful connection with people and to position our clients as cultural leaders, innovators, and community partners.”

Said Lauren Hanrahan, CEO of Zenith, “We’re thrilled to welcome Emerson to the Zenith family. With his expertise and passion for connectedness among cultures, languages, and people, Emerson will help our clients engage in more inclusive, purposeful ways with audiences.”
